Ruth F. Holly

Ruth F. Holly, age 80, of Jonesborough, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Bluff City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Riley Adam Buchanan and Vona Adaline Green Buchanan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking, canning, reading her Bible, and taking care of her dogs, Sammy and Chaco. Mrs. Holly was a member of Liberty Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard A. Holly, one brother, Willard Buchanan, and one sister, Thelma Wilhoit. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Q.D. Holly; her children, Jim Holly, of Johnson City, Judy Holly Conry, of Orlando, FL, Rebecca Holly Sadler, of Jonesborough, TN, Sandy Holly Maden and husband Tim, of Jonesborough, TN, and Dennis Holly and wife Shawne, of Jonesborough, TN; one brother, Albert Buchanan, of Bluff City, TN; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel with Dr. Rev. Lester Morlock officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Noah Maden, Caleb Maden, Landon Maden, Derek Holly, Blake Holly, Wilburn Holly, Trevor Holly and A.B. Holly. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Buchanan and Randy Buchanan. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 am Friday. The family would like to say special thanks to Mrs. Hollys nurse Michelle with Home Health Care, and to the Johnson City Medical Center ICU unit staff.
