Ruth Dulaney King

Ruth Dulaney King, age 95 of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away peacefully on the evening of September 26, 2026. She was born to the late Glenn and Myrtle Dulaney on November 12, 1930 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Ruth was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where she sang in the chior. She was an assistant for many years to Doctors Thomas McKee and John Wilson until her retirement. She volunteered to travel with various doctors to South America and assist providing care to the underserved. She enjoyed taking care of people but especially cooking and hosting them. She was a master level puzzle solver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Glenn Dulaney, Jr. Carolyn Carter, and Francis Kontovich, and her husband of 68 years, Herbert King.

Survivors include two sons, Robert L. King and his wife, Ann, of Johnson City and Richard D. King, of Johnson City; two daughters, Nancy King and Sarah Clouse; two grandchildren Megan Hughes and Emily Keys; four great grandchildren, Landon, Kamden, and Jade Hughes, and Laney Keys all of Johnson City. She is survived by her sister, Helen Byrd and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 12:00pm until 1:00pm. A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm with Dr. Ron Murray officiating.
