Shirley Jean Townsend

Shirley Jean Townsend, 68, of 1712 Carter Avenue, Johnson City, died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Carver Wishon. Shirley was a retired homemaker and member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Douglas Townsend in 1992. Survivors include: a son, Wesley Palmer of Gray; a niece, Shirley Hall of Johnson City; three special friends, Charlotte Burleson of Elizabethton, Charlotte Weltman of Apple Valley, MN and Jerry Norris of Chucky. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, July 10, 2006 in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Tommy Lawson at 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemtetery.
