Listen to Obituary

Suzanne is survived by her devoted sisters, Emori Barnes (Eric) and Alvina Ketron (Jeff), both of Gray; her husband, Todd; her daughter, Casey Luevanos of Nashville; and her honorary daughter/niece, Jacque Ketron Lowe of Jonesborough. She also leaves behind special nieces Melinda Ketron Gouge of Gray, Erica Barnes Brooks of Fall Branch, Erin Barnes of Nashville; nephew Jeff Fields of Bristol; and special friend and honorary sister, Juanita Luevanos, along with her sons Joseph Smith and Tristan Luevanos.

Suzanne adored her many great-nieces and nephews, including Abigail Grace Lowe, Noah Crawford, Emma Gouge, Blake Lowe, Jonathan Newton, and her "little man" Walker Brooks, who affectionately gave her the title of "Queenie." She was also lovingly known as "Suzie" by those closest to her, and she treasured her honorary grandchildren Kynleigh Dunbar, Asher Townsend, and their mother Andrea Davenport. Suzanne will also be dearly missed by her faithful dog, Meah.

Suzanne was well known in Johnson City for her long and successful career as a hairstylist. For decades, she stood behind her chair not only creating beautiful hairstyles but also building lifelong friendships. Her salon became a place of laughter, honesty, and love, where customers quickly became family.

After retiring in 2020 due to health reasons, Suzanne turned her creative talents toward interior design and furniture refinishing. She had a remarkable gift for taking worn or broken pieces and breathing new life into them. With her keen eye and tireless research, she created furniture that was as stylish and unique as she was.

Suzanne was feisty, witty, and refreshingly honest. She never sugarcoated her words and was often the first call for those who needed the truth. When loved ones faced hardships, she was quick to show up with help-whether it was clothing, coats, Christmas gifts for children, or furniture for families in need. Her giving spirit, sense of humor, and unmistakable boldness-often balanced by her sisters' gentle guidance-will forever be remembered.

Fashion was another of Suzanne's passions. She was known for her impeccable style, her signature red lipstick, and her love of jewelry and designer handbags. She never went without her favorite nail color, "Cajun Shrimp," and was always adorned in perfumes and lotions that left a sweet fragrance wherever she went.
