Terry Whitaker, 54, of Piney Flats, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 3, 1971, Terry lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Terry was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to his work as a mechanic and in paint and body repair. He took pride in his craftsmanship and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. While he was known for his strong work ethic, those who knew him best will remember his playful spirit, quick sense of humor, and the laughter he brought into every room. Terry had a gift for making others smile, and his genuine heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Above all else, Terry treasured his family. Those remaining to cherish his memory include: his loving wife, Amy Whitaker; his beloved son, Hunter (Rachel) Whitaker; and his precious granddaughter, Remi, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his father, Wayne (Helen) Whitaker; his mother, Pat (Joey) Thompson; his sisters, Cari Ann (Chris) Hart and April (Donald) Hale; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Terry was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his beloved stepson, Dustin Miller.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and a special thanks to Terry's weekly caregivers and nurses, whose compassionate care, kindness, and friendship over the past three and a half years meant more to him than words can express. Terry deeply appreciated each of you, and especially Bryce the night shift nurse, for the support you provided throughout his journey.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor, remember, and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many with his kindness and humor. A visitation is scheduled from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday July 27, 2026, at River of Life Baptist Church. A funeral service for Terry will begin immediately following the visitation at 6:00pm. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday July 28, 2026, at New Bethel Cemetery in Piney Flats. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50am.

Though Terry's presence will be profoundly missed, the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
