Trula Dean Lane

Trula Dean Lane, 86, of 344 Lane Hollow Road, Watauga, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a native of Sullivan County, daughter of the late Robert C. 'Bob'? and Carrie E. Carr Hyatt. Trula was a homemaker and member of the Watauga Christian Church. She loved flower and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shula Lane; three brothers, Verlin, Roscoe and James Hyatt; a sister, Lola Simpson. Survivors include: three sisters, Grace Hyatt Sheets of Elizabethton, Hester B. Hinkle of Pontiac, Michigan and Margie Gilliam of Tampa, Florida; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Mr. Rocky Maines. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at two. A committal service will follow the funeral in the Shell Cemetery at Piney Flats. Active pallbearers will be: Carl Wayne Sheets, Conley Clark and Jonathan Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jim Hyatt and Adam Clark.
