Virginia Kay Adams, 79, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Gray, Virginia was born on October 13, 1946, in Johnson City TN to the late Ted and Verna Gouge. but spent most of her life in the Oak Grove Community. She was a graduate of Boones Creek High School and spent many years as a dedicated employee, working for North Electric (later ITT Electric), Parks Belk Service Center in Gray, and retiring from TJ Maxx in Johnson City after more than 20 years of service.
On October 29, 1977, Virginia married the love of her life, Ben Adams. In her free time, she found joy in cross stitching and gardening. She was a longtime and faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Verna Gouge, brother, Jim and wife Carolyn Gouge, Sister, Barbara and husband Clarence Spears, and brother-in-law, Robert Adams.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ben Adams, niece, Jana and Lee Wilson, nephew, Jay and Kelley Gouge, niece, Sandy Hood, sister-in-law, Melanie Adams, niece, Katherine and Brian McArtor, nephew, Bill and Kendall Adams, special cousin, Cathy Harrell, and special friends, Grant and Elizabeth Hellard, as well as a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
Pall bearers will be Ben Adams, Josh Wilson, Lee Wilson, Ben Sexton, Jonah Crider, and Grant Hellard.
