Walter Lee Sims

Walter Lee Sims, 50, 135 Fairway Drive, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Sims was a native of Furstenfeldbruck, Germany and had lived in Johnson City for the past twenty years. He is a son of Emma Robl Sims and the late Fredrick Sims Sr. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Fredrick Sims Jr. Mr. Sims was a register nurse for twenty years. Mr. Sims attended St. Mary?s Catholic Church. Survivors in addition to his mother include: four daughters, Emily Carpenter and her husband Steven of Gray,Tn.,Amie Sims,Carlie Sims and Maria Sims all of Johnson City; one son, Benjamin Sims of Johnson City; one grandson, Phoenix Lee Carpenter of Gray, Tn.; best friend, Paul Petro of Fort Walton, Fl. A memorial service for Walter Lee Sims will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, July 3, 2006 in the St. Mary?s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service at the church.
