Wayne Aldridge

April 14, 1923 — January 27, 2006

Robert 'Wayne' Aldridge, 82, 119 Hughes Lane, died Friday, January 27, 2006 at Northside Hospital. Mr. Aldridge was a native of Washington County and had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was a son of the late Robert and Loma Taylor Aldridge and was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Richards Aldridge, one sister, Lois Horne and an infant brother. Mr. Aldridge was a WWII US Army veteran and served with the combat engineers. He was a retired employee of Klopman Mills and the Johnson City Housing Authority. Mr. Aldridge was a member of Seviers Methodist Church. survivors include one daughter, Janice Mitchell and her husband, J.D., Johnson City; one sister, Eva Ruth Phillips, Johnson City; one granddaughter, Tammy Renee Mitchell, Johnson City; three nieces, Shelia Phillips, Shelby Story and Kathy Lewis and one nephew, Steve Phillips. Funeral services for Mr. Aldridge will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, January 30, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Gary Edwards, Reverend Kenneth Grindstaff and Pastor Johnny Duncan will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph Jones, Steve Phillips, James Phillips, Jim Lewis, Chuck Bowling and Josh Dugger. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
