Willie Viola Feathers, 83, of Piney Flats, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Erwin Health Care Center. She was a native of Piney Flats, daughter of the late Maynard D. and Rowie Viola Day Curtis. Mrs. Feathers was a retired factory worker (yarn maker) in the textile industry. She was a member of the New Bethel Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Whitaker and her second husband, Lonnie Feathers; three sisters and four brothers; Amelia, Jim and Ernest Curtis, Dorothy Barnes, John Curtis, Shelia Cross and M. D. 'Dick'? Curtis; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Betty A. and James 'Zeke'? Neal of Piney Flats, three grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Melinda Perrigan, Howard Scott and Kim Neal all of Piney Flats, Patricia Neal of Jonesborough; four great grandchildren, Robert Perrigan, Mack Perrigan, Laura Perrigan and Joseph Carroll all of Piney Flats; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and James Goodman of Bluff City; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for 8:00 pm in the North Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Pastor Phil Blevins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until time of service at 8:00 pm. A committal service will be conducted on Sunday, October 14, 2012 under the direction of Charles Scherer at 2:00 pm in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at Morris '? Baker to leave in procession at 1:40 pm.
