Winter Storm Walters, born on August 17, 2026, and, after 13 precious days, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026. Though her time on this earth was far too short, the love she brought into the lives of her family was immeasurable.

A Johnson City resident, Winter was the beloved daughter of Jazmyne and Matthew Walters. From the moment she entered their lives, she became her mommy’s world and her daddy’s purpose. While life was not supposed to unfold this way, the 13 days they were blessed to share with Winter were nothing short of a miracle. Every moment with her was precious, and the memories created during those brief days will remain treasured in the hearts of her family for the rest of their lives.

Winter leaves behind a family who loved her beyond measure, including her parents, Jazmyne and Matthew Walters; her sister, Jersee Oxendine; and her three brothers, Joseyah Jones, Jordyan Oxendine, and Jezuz Burgos.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandfather, Herbert Shasteen; her grandmothers, Marie Ashbaugh and MaryAnn Crain; and her great-grandmothers, Patricia Soliday, Lisa Whitener, and Irene Morris. Winter also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, whose love for her was unconditional, as well as her beloved godmother, Taylor Goodman.

Winter was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, Rick Soliday, Robert Ashbaugh, and Jerry Dugger.

Although Winter’s life was measured in days rather than years, the love she inspired will last a lifetime. She will forever be remembered as a precious blessing—a tiny life who made an everlasting imprint on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of loving her. Her family will carry her memory with them always, cherishing every moment they were given and holding close the beautiful miracle of their sweet Winter.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the Oak Hall of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Ruben Hyder will be officiating the service.
