COVID-19

Covid-19

At Morris-Baker, we recognize diverse comfort levels concerning the Covid-19 virus.

Initiating our service to your family involves a dialogue about your specific needs and concerns. Our commitment is centered on meeting the wishes of each client family while respecting their values and apprehensions.

During our discussion, we may cover the protocols implemented to safeguard our staff. Operating in the midst of a Covid surge, our employees regularly face health risks. Maintaining their well-being is crucial to ensure we stand prepared to serve every family in need.

FEMA Reimbursement

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. FEMA's mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and they are dedicated to helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

Our Current Procedures

Morris-Baker currently has the following procedures in place — many of which the CDC has suggested — to protect attendees:

  • At this time, masks are optional during all indoor public events.
  • If the family of the deceased requests all guests wear masks, our staff will facilitate that request.
  • Our arrangement offices each have their own HEPA filter units.
  • Events in our Dogwood Chapel and Oak Hall may be webcast for those who cannot attend.
  • Services in local cemeteries may be webcast for those who cannot attend.
  • Hand sanitizer is placed throughout our facility.
  • Online tribute pages offer an alternative to register book signatures.
  • Arrangement conferences can be conducted over the phone or using a meeting software.
  • Our chapel offers an adjoining family rooms to allow social distancing.

Our family and staff are here to serve, protect and honor each family as we have been for over 100 years. Please contact us with any questions or concerns via our website, or call (423) 282-1521.
